These terms and conditions apply whether a contract has been made verbally or in writing.

Drivers Hours

The hours of operation for the driver are regulated by law. The hirer accepts responsibility of ensuring the hire keeps to the hours and times agreed by the company. If any breach occurs where the hirer or the passengers delay or interrupt the journey in such a way that the driver is at risk of breaching regulations relating to driving hours then they will be responsible for any additional costs incurred.

Passenger Conduct:

The driver is responsible for the safety of the vehicle. Any passenger whose conduct is in breach of regulations or is abusive to any other person may be removed on the driver’s authority. The hirer will be held responsible for the conduct of passengers and for any damage caused to the vehicle therefore any damage to the inside or the outside of the vehicle will be charged accordingly, this includes litter and sickness. The company will not accept any liability for damage, injury or loss for any passenger standing up or walking around the vehicle whilst in motion.


Should the hirer wish to cancel the booking please contact the office as soon as possible as there may be a cancellation charge applied especially close to the booking date as the company may have refused other work on the basis of covering the hirers job. Cancellation of the hire on the day before the vehicle has left the premises will be 75% of the total hire charge. Cancellation of the hire on the day after the vehicle has left the premises will be 100% of the total hire charge.

Use of the vehicle:

Unless stated and agreed in advance, the hirer cannot assume the use of the vehicle between outward and return journeys nor that it will remain at the destination.


The company reserves the right to substitute other operator’s vehicles in place of their own for any journey or part of.

Time variation:

The vehicle will depart at the times agreed on the above confirmation. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure all passengers are accounted for at those times. We will not accept liability for any losses incurred by passengers who fail to follow instructions given by the hirer.


Any deposit requested must be paid in order to secure the booking – this is n on refundable. The balance must be made with cleared funds 7 days before the date of hire unless otherwise agreed with the company. If full payment is not made before the date of travel, then the company has the right to cancel your booking without a refund.


Refunds, where appropriate will be processed by BACS or onto the card which payment was made with. Please note that refunds can take up to 5 working days to appear in your account.

Breakdowns and Delays

The company gives advice on journey times in good faith and will not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by breakdown, traffic congestion or any other delay outside of our control that causes the journey to take longer than predicted.

Cancellation by the company:

In the event of any emergency, riot, civil commotion, strike, lock out, stoppage or restraint of labour or on the happening of any event over which the company has no control of including adverse weather and road conditions the company, may, by refunding all money paid, cancel the contract.

Complaints Procedure

We shall perform the hire as specified in the confirmation, should you have any reason to complain during the hire you should first notify the driver or a company representative who will endeavour to rectify the problem for you. If for any reason it has not been rectified to your satisfaction please put any complaints in writing within 7 days to North East Coach Travel Ltd, The Coachworks, Brenkley Way, Seaton Burn, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE13 6DS


We will acknowledge all complaints and will normally reply within 28 days.
